IRS Tool to Register for Monthly Child Tax Credit Advance

IRS Launches Online Tool to Opt-Out of Monthly Child Tax Credit Payments

Link for non-filers to opt-out of the Advance Child Tax Credit Payments

Families who normally file tax returns will automatically be enrolled into the advance payment program. Our recommendation is to opt-out of the advance payment for any family where eligibility might be in question. If you are ultimately eligible you will receive any Child Tax Credit to which you are entitled as a refund on your tax return. If you receive the advance and it is determined that you are ineligible for the Child Tax Credit you will need to repay the amount advanced.
